Mimosa has been taken as an antidepressant, but it also has healing properties in relation to wounds and bruises and multiple studies have confirmed its efficacy. In Ayurveda Mimosa have been shown to be helpful in the reduction of blood sugar suggesting that Mimosa might be helpful as a diabetic treatment.

Mimosa has also been used in relation to fertility. People native to India use Mimosa pudica to prevent childbirth. Women use Mimosa when they have particularly heavy periods. It has also been used anecdotally for hemorrhoids. As support for the use in bleeding—related conditions, it has been reported that Mimosa pudica was able to assist wound healing as well.

To use externally make into a poultice and apply to the affected area, letting sit for few minutes before washing off.
