Guarana Seed
Botanical name: (Paullinia cupana)
Also Known As: Brazilian cocoa
It?s an evergreen shrub that grows in the Amazon. For centuries, the natives of the rain forests of Brazil and other parts of South America have used the seeds from the berries to make all sorts of tonics for upset stomach, diarrhea relief, alertness, and appetite suppression.
Guarana features large leaves and clusters of flowers, and is best known for itsfruit, which is about the size of a coffee bean. As a dietary supplement, guarana is an effective stimulant. It contains about twice the caffeine found in coffee beans. As with other plants producing caffeine, the high concentration of caffeine is a defensive toxin that repels pathogens from the berry and its seeds.
One of the other benefits of guarana is its ability to boost energy and mental alertness. Researchers have discovered that those who take guarana respond more quickly when stimulated, remember things better, and have a lot more energy.
