Clove oil has a warm, strong, spicy smell and is a natural analgesic and antiseptic used in dentistry for the ingredient eugenol.The oil is distilled from the leaves and unripe fruit. It is clear, with a slight yellow tint that matures into a dark brown. It can be used as a home remedy for dental pain relief. This oil has many uses; Flavoring medicine is a common use, as well as a remedy for bronchitis. The common cold, a cough, fever, sore throat are all ailments that can be helped by this essential oil because of its anti—septic properties.
Ingested internally, it has stimulating properties that promote digestive and stomachic action. It helps flatulence, promotes digestion, and restores the appetite. Clove is warming, and can be rubbed upon sore muscles and stiff joints along with a carrier oil.
