A roasty, piquant powder common to much international cuisine, our chili powder is shade dried and goes great in tacos, black beans, curries, or make your own hot sauce! Chili powder is dried, pulverized fruit of one or more varieties of chili pepper.
Chili powder is high in vitamin A and contains vitamins B2, B6, C, and E, and also contains potassium and manganese. Research suggests capsaicin (the acid that puts the hot in hot pepper) is an anti—inflammatory that may help reduce arthritis pain.
One tablespoon of chili powder contains 4.8 mg of vitamin C, which is about 8 percent of your daily recommended vitamin C intake. Vitamin C is an antioxidant. Your body uses antioxidants to fight damage from free radicals, which are unstable molecules created during the energy creation process that can increase your risk of developing harmful health conditions like cancer and heart disease. Vitamin C also helps strengthen your immune system and heal injuries.
