A perennial, reed—like herb, cardamom grows wild and is cultivated in India and Ceylon. Cardamom oil is non—toxic and non—irritant as well as non—sensitizing. It has very strong antiseptic and anti—microbial properties as well.
The therapeutic properties of cardamom oil are antiseptic, digestive, diuretic, stimulant, and tonic. Cardamom oil is most beneficial to the digestive system, boosting digestion by stimulating the whole digestive system. It is also ?stomachic? which means it keeps stomach healthy and functioning properly. It helps maintain proper secretion of gastric juices, acids and bile in the stomach. It also protects stomach from infections but it can also help with the treatment of coughs.
It works as a laxative, soothes colic, and nausea — even nausea in pregnancy.
Note: Although remedial, people with major health ailments like cancer, or epilepsy should avoid use. Non—toxic, non—irritant, possible sensitization in some individuals. Not to be used while pregnant.
