Aroma: Fresh, sweet, fruity, apple—like
There is much deliberation over the species of plant called chamomile. Some believe that a
similar plant, Roman or English chamomile (Chamaemelum noble), is actually the same species. German, Hungarian or blue chamomile (Matricaria recutita) produces a deep blue oil, while Chamaemelun nobile oil is pale blue to clear. The oil is distilled from the flowers.
Chamomile (Roman) is steam distilled from the flowers. It can be pale blue to yellow in color, it has a warm, slightly sweet, fruity scent. It is believed that this oil should be avoided if you have allergies to the Ragweed family. Like German chamomile, it is thought to be useful for relaxation.
Soothing, relaxing, anti—inflammatory, so it is perfect for aiding ailments related to allergies. Used in stress, anxiety and to aid poor sleep. Even has properties that lightens hair when added to shampoos.
Note: Although remedial, people with major health ailments like cancer, or epilepsy should avoid use. Non—toxic, non—irritant, possible sensitization in some individuals. Not to be used while pregnant.
