Black pepper is the dried, fully grown, unripe fruit of a vine—like plant Native to southwest India, although cultivated extensively in tropical countries.
Medicinal properties include being an analgesic, antiseptic, anti—toxic, and diuretic. Used in certain tonic preparations and for it?s unusual effects in perfumery work. For example, rose and carnation work well to create spicy, floral fragrances. The essential oil is used extensively in the food industry, as well, appearing in alcoholic drinks.
Ancient Greeks were known to use it for fever and stomach fortification.
Note: Although remedial, people with major health ailments like cancer, or epilepsy should avoid use. Non—toxic, non—irritant, possible sensitization in some individuals. Not to be used while pregnant.
